Herbal Tea

What is herbal tea?

While it has the word tea in it, herbal tea is not taken from the plant that typically makes the common teas, such as white, green, black, and oolong. That plant is called the Camellia sinensis and for it to be technically considered a tea, it must come from that plant. A herbal tea is a blend of various different items. This blend may include flowers, fruit, roots, bark, and leaves. These types of teas have become incredibly popular over the past 30 years, or so, even though they have been around for a long time. These teas are usually bright colors and offer a long list of health and mental benefits.

There are many different herbal tea options available. The best organic herbal tea brands come in some common types such as peppermint tea, chamomile tea, hibiscus tea, ginger tea, spearmint tea, and many others. Each one has its own flavor and health benefits. The best organic herbal tea brands are most often served as a hot tea but can be consumed cold, as an iced tea. It depends on a personal preference.

There are many benefits to these types of teas and much of it depends on the herbs it contains. They can help improve sleep, give you energy, and reduce pain in your joints. Tea has often been thought to help reduce the symptoms of a cold. Chamomile tea has been long recognized for its calming capabilities. Rooibos tea is known to be full of antioxidants and dandelion tea can help with digestion and relieve upset stomach symptoms. Tea is a great way for you to consume these herbs to maximize their healing benefits. Many of us would not be able to ingest the herbs in their natural state, and tea is a great way to consume them.
